You certainly know what love at first sight means. But, do you know what love upon the first listen is? That’s just what singer Agnė Buškevičiūtė-Tumalavičienė experienced. Whilst studying in Finland, she fell eternally head over heels in love with the songs of Jean Sibelius.
According to the performer, this composer entices audiences into his mystical universe. Here, surrounded by the nature of the North, animals and the seasons come to life, forest and water nymphs appear, along with other mythological beings, emerging from Karelian folklore and the mythical Finnish epic, Kalevala.
To the resonance of the songs of Sibelius, the Bernardine Gardens will briefly be transformed into a magical forest, above which the Northern Lights will appear. They say they’re a promise of a good life ahead, so don’t miss this chance!
Programme features J. Sibelius
Duration: approx. 70 min.
