Expectation with Aušrinė Stundytė
Wednesday, July 7, 7 pm
St Catherine’s Church (30 Vilniaus St, Vilnius)
AUŠRINĖ STUNDYTĖ (soprano)
ANDREJ HOVRIN (piano, Germany)
Concert production director CALIXTO BIEITO (Spain)
The charismatic Aušrinė Stundytė is devastatingly convicing in her roles, according to music critics, she is a “human torch”, so the soloist is completely in her element appearing in radical performances and playing complex characters.
You can be convinced too at the Christopher Summer Festival, where the singer will embody the unidentified Woman in Arnold Schoenberg’s Expectation (Erwartung). The character in this tense monodrama wanders through a moonlit forest, searching for her beloved, who is likely to have betrayed her. She finally finds him, murdered. The woman releases her emotions: terror, sorrow, passion, jealousy, anger, gentleness, empathy, loneliness, and the fear of the unknown…
There’s no doubt you’ll be swept up into the epicentre of emotions too, as the production is in the hands of Calixto Bieito himself!
Don’t miss this breath-taking encounter with world stage favourites.
