JOSEPH WICKS (tenor)
JOSH COOTER (tenor)

MICHAEL CRADDOCK (baritone)

SAM MITCHELL (bass)

Six voices, weaving a tapestry of the purest sound. Stopping time and those thoughts that are always running through our heads in their tracks, they create an effect of other-worldly clarity and greatness. Want to experience this? Then this concert is for you! For the first time in Lithuania, the Gesualdo Six – one of the strongest British vocal collectives continuing the tradition of male choral a cappella singing.

Back in 2014 Owain Park brought together the best young singers in the UK for a one-off appearance at Trinity College Chapel in Cambridge. The future members of the Gesualdo Six didn’t suspect for a moment that this would be a fateful meeting, with the potential to bring on a powerful flood of creativity. In their first five years together, the singers held 150 performances, winning over audiences and reaping the recognition of professionals: “… impeccably delivered, with that undefinable excitement that comes from a group of musicians working absolutely as one” (Gramophone); “Their sound seemed to float in mid-air before reaching the ears of the rapt audience… every line, every gorgeous texture was radiantly clear” (The Times).

The collective is dedicating their performance in Vilnius to mark the capital’s 700th anniversary, offering up a bouquet of works ready to bloom in all their beauty amid the lofty heights of St. Catherine’s Church.

Programme features T. Tallis, O. Park, W. Byrd, H. Purcell and others.
