SACRED MUSIC HOURS: VIRTUOSO IN VILNIUS
July 25, Tuesday
St. Casimir’s Church, 19:00
ANDRZEJ CHOROSINSKI (organ, Poland)
We are unlikely to find an organ yet to be played by the Polish virtuoso Andrzej Chorosinski. The Notre-Dame in Paris, the Town Hall in Adelaide, Aula Paolo at the Vatican, St Patrick’s Cathedral in New York and King’s College Chapel in London – these are but a few of the stops on the performer’s impressive concert map.
Chorosinski’s discography, boasting many masterful improvisations, consists of more than 20 recordings, while his active cultural activities are evidenced by an enviable collection of prizes and medals. A professor at the F. Chopin and K. Lipinski music academies in Warsaw and Wrocław respectively, he is convinced that the organ is something of a magical instrument, capable of transporting us much further than set out in the notation alone.
We are certain that you will be convinced of this yourself at the concert of this virtuoso organist.
Programme features works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Alexandre Guilmant, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jan Podbielski.
